abstract
this study aimed at determining the physico-morphological attributes, in vitrofertilityand their interrelationships in semen of sahiwal bulls. semen samples werecollected weekly for 6 weeks from ten mature sahiwal bulls divided randomly into 5 groups. the mean (±sem) of ejaculate volume (ml), mass activity (score 0-5), progressive sperm motility (%), sperm concentration (106/ml), live sperm (%), abnormal sperm (%), intact acrosome (%), hypo-osmotic swelling (hos) positive sperm (%), sperm penetration distance (spd, mm) were 4.28, 3.17, 76.73, 1185.53, 83.37, 9.97, 82.70, 79.00 and 56.85, respectively. the bulls varied significantly (p

full textSperm Characteristics in Cryopreserved Buffalo Bull Semen and Field Fertility
Semen quality and its relationship to fertility are major concern in animal production. The aim of this study was to assess the relationship between frozen thawed sperm characteristics and fertility following in vivo fertility through Artificial Insemination(AI). Semen samples were collected from four buffalo bulls. Semen volume and sperm concentration appeared to be significantly different (P0...
full textBull Semen Evaluation Post-thaw and Relation of Semen Characteristics to Bull’s Fertility
Evaluation of the quality of cryopreserved bull spermatozoa is reviewed. The methods for the assessment of sperm quality have markedly improved over the last decades – starting with the assessment of morphological shapes and subjective motility analysis towards the more sophisticated analysis of the molecular changes in chromatin, membranes and catabolic activities of the sperm cell itself. Fun...

Aim: Present investigation was carried out to study the physical characteristics of Kankrej bulls semen by evaluation of various semen parameters from neat semen and at various stages of semen preservation. Materials and Methods: A total of 60 ejaculates, 10 each from 6 mature Kankrej bulls, once in a week for 10 weeks, were collected and analyzed for various semen attributes. Result: The mean ...
full textCorrelation between Hypo-osmotic Swelling Test and Various Conventional Semen Evaluation Parameters in Fresh Nili-ravi Buffalo and Sahiwal Cow Bull Semen
The present study was conducted to determine the correlation of hypo-osmotic swelling test with conventional semen evaluation parameters of fresh semen collected from two Nili-Ravi buffalo and two Sahiwal cow bulls. A total of 10 pooled samples (each comprising two consecutive ejaculates) from each bull were collected. Each semen sample was divided into two parts. One part was used for the eval...
